Governance
The Heritage Agricultural Society (H.A.S.) is a 14 member volunteer board of directors that operates the Multicultural Heritage Centre and is responsible for providing guidance on policies, finances, and direction. It is one of 294 agricultural societies in Alberta.
The Multicultural Heritage Centre is a registered charity and operates as a non-profit organization. It is not a municipal department, although it annually receives financial support from both the Town of Stony Plain and Parkland County.
The board is the legal custodian of the organization and, as such, is responsible for its proper and prudent stewardship. Its role is one of governance.
