City Slickers Program

CITY SLICKERS is a program of the Multicultural Heritage Centre, Stony Plain.

City Slickers is a powerful learning experience provided to 1200 urban children who experience first hand what it’s like to be on a working farm;

  •  to see where their food comes from

  •  to listen to commodity groups and commercial businesses involved in processing and producing food,

  •  to meet and listen to the farmers themselves,

  •  to learn how farmers are stewards of their land, their animals and the environment in producing safe food for us.

The underlying theme for City Slickers 2012 was Careers in Agriculture - pathways of discovery for urban youth.

Thank you to our Sponsors and volunteers.
