Agriculture Programs
The Heritage Agricultural Society Board of Directors decided to have agriculture link all programs and services of the Heritage Agricultural Society. Agriculture will be the underpinning to everything proposed and/or built.
New Initiatives
- Farm School – Inquiring Minds Site School
- Organic Master Gardener – On Site composting project
- Grounds – edible landscape – in partnership with Stony Plain Rotary Club
Agriculture is one of the Key Business Activities of the Heritage Agricultural Society, and has been since the inception of the Society in 1974. This is in keeping with the history of Stony Plain, which began as an agricultural services community. The Town of Stony Plain recently celebrated its 100th Anniversary, and has grown to include over 14,000 residents while retaining its “small town” flavour and history. Stony Plain is just one mile from Spruce Grove, with a population of 25,000, and is located within Parkland County, which has reached 30,000 in population.
