Community Garden Plots

The Multicultural Heritage Centre will be managing the Community Gardens in Stony Plain. The plots are located to the South of the Centre and can be reserved by anyone.

(There is an annual fee of $35 plus GST)

Launched in 2010, this very popular program offers local green thumbs an opportunity to plant and grow their own vegetable gardens. There are 60 organic four- by eight-foot raised bed garden plots and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition to the use of the garden, special programs are offered, free, to all participants throughout the summer. As the site is an organic demonstration farm, all users must agree to use only organic products for fertilizer and pest control. The site has it’s own water source.

The benefits of a community garden – self-reliance, physical activity and social interaction – are substantial and enhance quality of life for all involved. The garden initiative fosters and strengthens community relationships through public participation.
