(Mary) Leona Olausen is Canadian Metis, working as a mixed media acrylic artist, in Edmonton, Alberta. Leona holds a Fine Arts Certificate from the University of Alberta. She is a devout advocate volunteering for various venues in Edmonton. Her dedication to the arts earned her a job sharing position as assistant director of Visual Arts Alberta/CARFAC in 2013-15. She is a member of Visual Arts Alberta/CARFAC, and a juried member of The Alberta Society of Artists, VASA Visual Arts Studio Association of St Albert, and Gallery@501 Strathcona County.

As a practicing fine artist, Leona focuses on texture, movement and color in nature, with the intention of invoking a response from the viewer. Ventures in the Art Process include photography (Digital Manipulation); mixed media, the photographic image dictate the direction of each piece. Her next adventure is to teach art classes to those interested in learning her process. Leona’s art studio can be found at Colours Art South 7359-104 Street Edmonton, Alberta.
